Earth is Hiring

Ask most people how they can help the planet and they'll mentally sort themselves out of the job: I'm an accountant, not an environmentalist. That gap between what people think sustainability work looks like and what it actually is turns out to be the whole opportunity.

Creative Direction

With more than 190,000 green roles live on LinkedIn, saving the planet might just be a job search away. So we kept the message stupidly simple: Earth is hiring.

The Pitch

The project was modest: a few social posts for Earth Day. We wrote the headline, looked at it, and thought, why say this on a phone screen when we could say it on the planet itself. What if the message wasn’t written about the Earth, but written on it, carved into a snowy mountainside, a stretch of desert, a beach? We had no idea if that would survive a client call. It never hurts to ask, and it turns out nobody says no to something that ambitious on the first try. The real move here wasn’t the idea, it was refusing to let the size of the ask define the size of the idea. Clients rarely reject a bigger, better version of what they already said yes to in concept, they just need someone willing to propose it.

The Results

A few social posts turned into a full campaign in a couple of weeks: a narrative film, a social cut built for feed behavior, and an interview with the artist who actually carved the message into the land. The film didn’t disappear after Earth Day either, it lives permanently on LinkedIn’s social impact site. That’s the quiet win underneath the flashy one: campaigns built for a single day on the calendar usually die on that day. This one was built to outlast its own occasion.
